Clane native Tom Cribbin departed Westmeath last Saturday after three years in charge of the county’s senior and under 21 footballers and part of the advice he gave was to pursue a centre of excellence in the county that would help develop players.
He feels it would be a great investment and could actually generate funds for the Association going forward as well as helping to develop elite sportsmen and women that would represent their club and county at the highest level.
Cribbin also paid tribute to the Westmeath players for their efforts over the last three seasons.
“This has been the best group of guys I have worked with; the commitment they gave and the standards they set. I couldn’t say enough about them,” he said.
