On Sunday evening last in TEG Cusack Park, Clonkill got their championship season off to the perfect start with a well deserved eight point victory over Castlepollard.
A 10-minute spell after half time where the men from Loughegar scored 2-4 to Castlepollard’s single point was the crux of this game and Clonkill showed no mercy and went on to lay down a marker that they are serious contenders for this year’s Westmeath Examiner Cup.
