Some Westmeath clubs have reacted to the decision of the County Board to overlook former player, John Cooney for the manager’s position.
Kildare’s Tom Cribbin was ratified as the new manager at a County Board meeting on Tuesday evening, but there were dissenting voices, among them Joe O’Keeffe of Coralstown/Kinnegad (Cooney’s club), who labelled as “shocking” the decision to overlook Cooney. He claimed the county turned its back on one of its own.
