A goal by Evan Connell in the 54th minute proved the crucial score as Tyrrellspass marched into the Westmeath senior football championship semi final following this hard earned four-point win over Mullingar Shamrocks in TEG Cusack Park, last Sunday evening.
This game was delayed by over 45 minutes due to the preceding intermediate game between Multy and Tubberclair going all the way to penalty kicks. It was always going to be difficult for this game to provide the same drama and excitement and it never did, but it always remained close and interesting as these two teams battled out for a place in the last four.
