Fionn Campbell from Moate Community School took home two awards at the SciFest regional competition in TUS Athlone on Thursday, 25 April. “It’s fantastic. Finon is a very good overall student. He shows a great interest in this area of science,” Moate Community School principal Tom Lowry told Topic. “He’s very determined and very ambitious. It was simply his dedication and commitment to his project that led him to this. A very worthy winner, he deserves every bit of it. He’s a super young man.”
The Moate student won the EirGrid Cleaner Climate Award and was runner-up for the Best Project. Fionn impressed judges with his project titled ‘A crystal clear way to slow down Ireland’s energy crisis’.
