In a crucial presentation made at Westmeath County Council’s monthly Strategic Policy Committee meeting on Monday morning of last week, Head of Regional Developement at IDA, Breda O’Toole set out her plans for County Westmeath in 2015, with local Councillors failing to press the official on investment to the north of the county.
Describing 2014 as “a good year for Athlone”, Ms. O’Toole had little mention of Mullingar and north Westmeath in her presentation, in which she gave her view on what is needed to attract investment from foreign companies in Westmeath as well as the challenges facing the county.
