Local Ballynacargy woman Lorraine Cahill-Evans is celebrating a new lease of life this Christmas after she received the perfect gift in the form of a kidney transplant. And in a remarkable twist of fate, the gift of life came from her namesake and sister-in-law, Lorraine Cahill.
It’s Lorraine’s second kidney transplant after the kidney she received in 2001 failed. That meant the dreaded home dialysis and then Hemodialysis, all of which amounted to a long spell of sickness for the mum of one.
