THIS year Bealtaine Fire at Uisneach is set to be lit by a very special guest in form of Uachtarán na hÉireann, President Michael D. Higgins.
Taking place at the mythological and sacred centre of Ireland on Saturday, 6 May, this year’s event will focus on the lighting of the ceremonial fire and will have a strictly limited capacity. Speaking about the event, David Clarke who owns the farm on Uisneach, said “Last year we scaled back the event and had a smaller crowd than previous years. We certainly feel that we got more of an authentic atmosphere. We’ve capped the amount of people that can attend and we’d encourage people to get in touch early to secure their place at this year’s event before the list closes. We are hugely honoured to have Uachtarán na hÉireann, Michael D. Higgins, as our special guest to address the people in attendance.”
