UFC Supremo, Dana White, said he would “look into” the potential signing of Mullingar MMA fighter, Danni McCormack.
McCormack, a coach at Relentless Gym in Mullingar, has been vocal in her attempts to get a UFC contract, and previously told Topic that her age was used as a reason by the UFC not to sign her.
A World Champion for Invicta, a contract at the UFC would be a jump to the pinnacle of mixed martial arts for McCormack. McCormack has said that she has been placed as first reserve by the UFC for fights between now and December, and could receive the call-up to fight at any time in the Strawweight, Flyweight or Bantamweight divisions.
McCormack beat Chinese fighter, Qihai Yan over three rounds on a minor UFC promotion on Friday, 23 August in Las Vegas. That win took her record to nine victories with just two defeats.
Dana White was in Dublin on Friday, 20 September, for a boxing event he was lead promoter for. At the post-fight press conference, he was asked by a journalist about the possibilities of signing McCormack to a UFC contract.
He responded: “I will look into it. I have matchmaking on Tuesday (24 September) and I will talk about it.”
Talking directly to the enquiring journalist, White then said: “Are you her agent? You did her a solid. Done!”
