Last week it was announced that 50 people were waiting for a bed at the three Midland Regional Hospitals. This week, the situation is worse, with a total of 61 on trolleys on Tuesday, 29 August – 24 each in Mullingar and Tullamore Hospitals and 13 in Portlaoise. The day before, the total was 55.
