What amounted to a 75 minute “crime spree” took place on the main streets of Mullingar on Thursday afternoon last, when ten local shops were robbed by a young woman between 1.30pm and 2.45pm, but it appears no one noticed anything unusual.
The person involved was a young woman in her late twenties, who embarked on the remarkable daylight robbery escapade, involving various shops in central Mullingar. Even though the robberies took place on Thursday afternoon last, the perpetrator succeeded – in the space of an hour and a quarter – in stealing goods worth at least €1,200 in total, from ten different businesses and stores, before the local Gardai brought her robberies’ “binge” to a halt.
