It was a case of so close but not close enough once again for Westmeath as a brave, battling performance just wasn’t enough to overcome a Limerick side that played with 14 players for the entire second half of this All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Qualifier played in TEG Cusack Park, Mullingar, last Saturday evening.
In the end Limerick ran out nine-point winners but most of those amongst the crowd of close on 2,000 would agree that it was a much closer game for the majority of this contest.
