The lead single of Niall Horan’s first album, ‘This Town’ has achieved the Spotify landmark of over 1 billion streams.
It is the first song in Niall’s repertoire to reach the billion mark. Four songs from Niall’s time in One Direction have over a billion streams on Spotify. They are Night Changes, What Makes You Beautiful, Story Of My Life and Drag Me Down.
This Town, the lead single of Flicker, was released in September 2016 and features uniquely Mullingar references in the official music video, such as signs for Lingi’s and Roma takeaways and a sketching of the Cathedral of Christ The King.
Currently on tour in Mexico, Niall said to his audience: “That is absolutely amazing and I know that you guys (his fans) were part of that, so thank you so much. Not bad for a song with just an acoustic guitar.
“It was the first song I ever wrote for my solo stuff. I love it as much to this day.”
