Local councillors put a spotlight on the issue of road safety at schools in Westmeath during the October meeting of the Mullingar–Kinnegad Municipal District on Monday, 14 October.
Cllr Andrew Duncan submitted a motion requesting for speed ramps to be installed in The Downs near the local school and preschool. In reply to Cllr Duncan, the executive said this would be considered under the 2025 estimates.
