Traffic management and funding issues in relation to Mullingar Regional Sports Complex were discussed during the November meeting of the Mullingar–Kinnegad Municipal District on Monday, 11 November.
The complex will be split between Robinstown and Blackhall. Robinstown was considered more suitable for outdoor facilities including floodlit 4G pitches, paddle tennis courts and a boxing facility. Blackhall will feature indoor facilities including a swimming pool, basketball courts, gym and badminton courts. Anne-Marie Corroon, head of regeneration at Westmeath County Council said they hope to submit a planning application for the project in March 2025.
