On Saturday 25 January Mullingar Harriers Athletic Club presented a donation of €3,000 to Tanzanian Heavenly Homes, a non-profit organisation set up and run by John McCauley, a photographer from Mullingar.
He and his team travel to Tanzania every year to help the forgotten elders and the poor. The donation was the proceeds of the Pat Finnerty Memorial 5k trail series which was held in Belvedere House Gardens & Park last May. After the presentation Sarah Glennon, who travelled on one of the charity’s recent trips to Mto Wa Mbu in Tanzania and who is now part of the organising committee of Tanzanian Heavenly Homes [known as Senior Hope in Tanzania], shared about her experience of the trip.
