It has been a sad start to 2025 for the Clonmellon community with the unexpected passing of one its best loved community stalwarts – Pat McGonagle. In his 91st year, Pat passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in his own home in Clonmellon village on Wednesday, 22 January.
Pat was blessed with a long and healthy life and leaves behind a huge legacy for which his native village of Clonmellon can feel truly indebted for his enormous contribution. It is only a few months ago last summer when he played his part in the Clonmellon’s Pride of Place contribution and delivered an inspirational address about the progress of the village down through the decades.
