Another sensational performance from Coláiste Mhuire, Mullingar, on Thursday last, saw them comfortably through to the Leinster Colleges Senior Football ‘A’ quarter-final after a resounding win over St Fintan’s High School from Sutton, Dublin.
A stunning second-half cemented the win which was, in truth, never really in doubt as a first-half lead of 1-5 to 0-1 for the home team put them firmly in control. With a consistently threatening forward-six, combined with a firm, tenacious, and systematic rearguard, the Mullingar school are building a reputation as being a team who may be destined for something special.
