After four months of construction, the pupils and staff at Taghmon NS, Mullingar have welcomed the opening of the school’s new dedicated autism unit.
The project, which had been in the works for some time, came about on foot of a request by staff at the school to the Department of Education, as well as an increase in requests by parents of prospective pupils for such a facility.
“We wanted something to add to the school,” said school principal Tracy Meade.
