Issues facing the housing section of Westmeath County Council were discussed at the Council’s February monthly meeting on Monday, 24 February.
Cllr Mick Dollard kicked off the discussion by asking how many properties the Council had acquired from private landlords following Notices To Quit (NTQs) issued in 2024. He asked if there is “an embargo on the acquisition of houses” from NTQs. Cllr Vinny McCormack said time was “running short” on many NTQs issued before Christmas.
