At least €44,000 was raised on Daffodil Day, according to the Chairperson of the Mullingar Daffodil Day Committee, Marie O’Toole, who told Topic there are positive signs of reaching the €50,000 target after a couple more weeks of counting collections.
A few showers around lunchtime were the exception to what was largely a sunny, beautiful day. This is important, Marie asserted, as the weather has “a huge impact on footfall and the resulting donations.”
