District needs to go ‘hell for leather’ to address dumping says Cllr Davitt

Cllr Aoife Davitt called for renewed efforts to tackle dumping in the county during the February meeting of the Municipal District of Mullingar and Kinnegad on Monday, 10 February.

In a motion submitted to the District, Cllr Davitt requested for a pilot “no dumping” signs initiative to be carried out. She also requested the use of CCTV to “monitor, fine and stop” dumping at Butler’s Bridge, Kilpatrick, Ladestown and Belmont. Cllr Davitt said it is the time of year when people will start returning to lakes.
