Sunday week, April 27, the first Sunday after Easter is of special interest to young people this year, because the newest official Catholic saint – 15-year old Carlo Acutis will be Canonised in Rome by the Pope.
The teenager, who died of acute leukaemia on 12 October 2006, was Beatified by Pope Francis on 10 October 2020, following recognition of a miracle attributed to his intercession, and a second miraculous healing of a 21 year old girl from Costa Rica on 23 May, 2024, who prayed to him for help, was recognised less than a year ago, on 23 May, 2024.
