Colin Watters from Mullingar was driving by the site of Greville Park on the C-Link Road when he first saw the name. “The first thing that hit me was, what a boring name,” he told Topic.
“I wondered where they got the name from and the only thing that I could think of was Lord Greville, the English landlord. I’m not anti-English in any shape or form. If I was I’d be giving out about the laneway down at the bottom of Mount Street, Connaught Lane, named after a battalion in the British Army. It’s all part of history, I accept that but I thought it was an extremely lazy decision with no thought put into it.”
