The President of Mullingar Chamber, James Bourke, has insisted that the Electric Vehicle (EV) market in Westmeath is strong despite fewer EVs being registered in 2024 compared to 2023.
Figures from The Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI) showed a drop of 28.6% of EVs registered in Westmeath in 2024, with 197 EVs registered compared to 276 in 2023. The decrease is higher than the national average of 23.6%.
