Fianna Fáil has added Dympna Cunniffe to the party’s ticket in Longford-Westmeath to contest the upcoming General Election.
She will join Deputy Robert Troy and Deputy Joe Flaherty on the ticket for the constituency.
Dympna is a native of Mount Temple and is a mother of four.
“I am delighted with the addition of Dympna Cunniffe to the ticket in Westmeath/Longford for the forthcoming general election,” Tánaiste and Leader of Fianna Fáil Micheál Martin said.
“Dympna has consistently delivered for her local community in many ways. She is an avid fundraiser, a hard worker, and I have no doubt that she would be an excellent representative in Dáil Éireann if elected.
Reflecting on her addition to the ticket Dympna said: “I am honoured to have been added to the ticket here in Westmeath/Longford for the next general election.
“I understand the issues facing our constituents being a mother of four, I know the challenges our young people face.
“I am deeply rooted in my local community, and I want to be the local voice people can rely on. My focus throughout my campaign will be on issues on housing, cost of living, support for SME’s and farmers, and traffic management to name a few,” Cunniffe said.
“If elected to Dáil Éireann, I pledge to be a reliable voice for all my constituents and work tirelessly to deliver for all,” she concluded.
