Minister Robert Troy stated it would be “foolhardy” if the Taoiseach rejected any invitations to visit the US President, Donald Trump at the White House for St Patrick’s Day.
In an interview on RTÈ Radio One’s Drivetime on Tuesday, 11 February, Minister Troy was asked by Cormac Ó hEadhra what he would say to people who would be horrified their politicians attend St Patrick’s Day at the White House, in light of the northern political party, the SDLP, and their refusal to travel to Washington DC for the occasion.
