Former Westmeath county manager, Danny McLoughlin, has been appointed as a member of Fáilte Ireland National Tourism Development Authority.
Mr McLoughlin, who was Westmeath county manager for seven years until 2013, was appointed to the role, along with four other appointees, by the Minister for Tourism, Catherine Martin TD.
The Roscommon man has worked for over 30 years in local government leadership positions, and it is hoped he will be able to draw on his comprehensive experience across national and local leadership positions to this role. Mr McLoughlin currently provides independent management consultancy services across the public and private sectors.
Chairperson of Fáilte Ireland, Ruth Andrews said: “I warmly welcome and congratulate the new members of the Authority. Each of them is highly qualified, experienced and respected in their fields.
“I am looking forward to working with them as we continue to support our tourism industry in developing sustainably and prospering. The wealth of experience these new members bring will add enormous value to Fáilte Ireland, to the tourism sector, and to the country as a whole.”
