Fourteen-man Brownstown fall in surprise defeat to St Feichin’s of Louth

Despite a gallant effort, Brownstown were edged out down the home straight, as they narrowly lost out to St Fechin’s in this closely fought Leinster Junior Club Hurling Championship quarter final on Saturday afternoon last.

Despite defeat, the hu­gely vocal Brownstown supporters who travelled to the Gaelic Grounds, Drogheda, appreciated the herculean effort that their players put in over the 60 minutes and clapped them off at the end. Brownstown stayed neck and neck with St Fechin’s, despite being reduced to 14 players following the second half dismissal of Kenny Higgins for a second bookable offence.
