The annual devotions on Good Friday at the centuries-old graveyard and church site at Carrick, Dalystown, Mullingar, were revived two years ago, after the Covid emergency, and will take place on Friday week, 18 April at 12 noon.
The old burial ground, five miles south of Mullingar, beside the old N52 road, is where a famous local parish priest, Fr. Timothy Shanley, was laid to rest in 1835. His grave has been attracting local people for more than a century and a half, because many people claim to have received physical and spiritual favours through his intercession.
