Homeless single men are ‘cast aside and forgotten’

At one of the most recent counts of homeless people in Westmeath, upwards of three dozen cases were recorded with people sleeping on park benches, under shop canopies and living ‘rough’ beside the Canal or in other corners.

At this week’s (Monday, 31 May) meeting of Westmeath Co Council, members heard that homelessness is still a problem – but that the situation is improving.
