Many trees fell to the power of Storm Éowyn as it ripped its way though Ireland on Friday, 24 January, including one very special little whitethorn at Uisneach, the ancient spiritual centre of Ireland.
The fairy tree on the summit of the Hill of Uisneach was pulled from the ground, thrown into the air and deposited metres away by the gusts. It was the end of the line for this beloved tree that had already survived a fire, causing great sadness for the dedicated staff, thousands of loyal visitors and online fans.
