Durrow forward, Brian Duignan, fired over fourteen points as Offaly maintained their solid start in the Allianz National Hurling League with victory over neighbours Westmeath in Glenisk O’Connor Park, Tullamore last Sunday afternoon.
Seoirse Bulfin’s Lake County came into this game on the back of some disappointing results and performances, and they were eager to show something more against their close rivals. Despite the returning Killian Doyle amassing the same tally as Duignan, the Raharney man’s efforts went unrewarded as a wider range of scorers and an early goal for the home side saw Offaly’s Johnny Kelly side emerge winners by six-points at the final whistle.
