A devoted family man suffered a “catastrophic” brain injury and will require constant care for the rest of his life after a drunken single-blow assault in Mullingar, a court has heard.
55-year-old Thomas “Toss” Maher was knocked to the ground on 7 January, 2024 in an unprovoked assault, by Paul Earley (60), who had consumed 11 pints.
