John Clarke, businessman and husband of the late RTÉ broadcaster Marian Finucane, passed away on Wednesday, 5 February, at the Beacon Hospital in Dublin. He was 88.
A private figure for much of Ms. Finucane’s career, Clarke stepped into the public eye following her unexpected death in January 2020. At her funeral, he spoke movingly about their life together, calling her “my Marian, the woman I loved for 40 years,” and adding that she “made the colours brighter, the world a bit easier to live in.”
