Gaybrook man, Kevin Whelehan, widely known as a gardening cacti specialist, embarked on a very different project in the past year – a true labour of love. Kevin set out to try to identify a total of 49 local children, in a 1925 photograph which puzzled and intrigued him, containing so many faces of people who were, for the most part, already deceased.
Certainly, if awards were given for persistence, and good detective work, Kevin deserves full marks for what he has achieved.
