Gardaí say that four people in Mullingar – two adults and two children – had a very lucky escape following an arson attack on the house they were in. The house, in the Newtown Lawns housing estate, Mullingar, was set on fire between 12.15am and 1.15am on Thursday, 12 June.
Emergency services were alerted to the fire at a house in Newtown Lawns shortly before 1.00am last Thursday. Gardaí say that four people were in the house at the time and were brought to the Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar for treatment of injuries that are not life threatening. The family woke up to find the house had been engulfed in flames.
