A man in his 50s has died following a single-vehicle road traffic collision on the R395 at Teevrevagh, Castlepollard.
At approximately 6.40pm on Tuesday evening, Gardaí were alerted to a vehicle which had collided with a roadside ditch.
The male driver of the car, aged in his 50s and sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
It is understood the collision occurred last Sunday, morning, 30 June, however the man’s body was not discovered until Tuesday evening.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
