Erin McHugh was the Garrycastle heroine as she kicked an extra-time winner for Garrycastle against St Mary’s Rochfortbridge in the Westmeath Ladies Minor Football Division 2 final in Hogan Park, Moate, last Sunday.
This game probably deserved to go to a replay. Neither side deserved to lose, both teams struggled to find any length of domination or having momentum. Both teams had their spells of dominance but it didn’t last long enough to pull clear. But at the very end of extra time Erin McHugh kicked the winner and with it won the title for Garrycastle.
