Millie Walsh proposed for Address of Recognition

Cllr Ken Glynn proposed Millie Walsh for an Address of Recognition from Westmeath County Council at a Mullingar–Kinnegad Municipal District meeting on Monday, 9 September.

Millie retired as manager of Maxol on the Dublin road in August after 40 years’ service. John Donoghue was also proposed for an address of recognition by Cllr Andrew Duncan for winning the European Junior Boxing champion at 66kg at the European Junior Championships.

Mullingar Town Band were also proposed for the honour for winning the 2024 Irish Marching Band Championship in July.

All three addresses are pending approval from the Corporate Policy Group (CPG).

Canon Alastair Graham is set to receive an Address of Recognition with a date to be set for the honour. He will be recognised for this contribution to the Mullingar Union of Parishes and as Rector of All Saints Mullingar.

Cllr David Jones also proposed Westmeath Rose Grace O’Connor for an Address of Recognition and is set to make a submission for her to be honoured.
