In a game which began at one-hundred miles per hour and continued in that vein for the majority, the men from Moate reversed the outcome of the meeting with Shandonagh in the group stage to win this relegation play-off match and survive in senior football for another year, condemning Shandonagh to Intermediate football for next year.
This game, played in Fr Éamonn O’Brien Park, Rochfortbridge last Saturday evening, was marred, however, by an unfortunate injury to Cathal Craig requiring a long stoppage and an ambulance had to be called to the venue for the injured player.
