Over 100 people participated in the Royal Canal Odyssey on Saturday past, a 102km ultramarathon from Sandycove, Dublin to the Joe Dolan statue in Mullingar in tribute to James Joyce.
The “epic journey” was led by Castlepollard man Donal Cassidy who discovered in December that he could achieve his goal of running 100km by simply running to Mullingar, a town close to his heart and exactly 100km from the James Joyce Museum in Dublin.
