There was deep sadness when news broke of the sad passing of Castlepollard man Michael Murphy. The community of Castlepollard and further afield paid their respects to Michael who was a President of Castlepollard Hurling Club and described as an “all time great clubman”.
Michael Murphy, of Green Street, Castlepollard, passed away at the age of 85 years on Tuesday, 18 February 2025 at Midland Regional Hospital, Mullingar, following a short illness. His Funeral Mass was celebrated at St Michael’s Church, Castlepollard, by Fr Patrick Moore PP on Friday, 21 February. A burial service was held afterwards at St Michael’s Cemetery, Castlepollard.
