Search for Mullingar man’s heir still ongoing

A Mullingar man’s estate has yet to be claimed despite his death being more than thirteen years ago.

Edward Crumm is just one of 340 people born in Ireland, but who died in the UK who has an estate that has not been passed to a known heir.

His details have been published on the website, unclaimedestates.ie, which aims to help the rightful heirs inherit estates.

Edward Crumm was born in Mullingar on 3 April, 1931 and died in Coventry, Warwickshire in England on 25 April, 2011, at the age of 80.
The website says: “Each year many people died intestate (without leaving will).

“Often the deceased’s next of kin are unknown and the estate is eventually passed to the Government Legal Dept, Bona Vacantia Estates and released on the Bona Vacantia list in the hope that an heir or heirs to the estate will come forward.”
