The GAA schedule has been dealt a blow due to the worsening situation in relation to covid-19 and it is now expected that the National Football and Hurling Leagues will be postponed until late March.
What that means for the club schedule is unclear, but any resumption of games at club level before May looks very unlikely. New County Board Chairman, Frank Mescall was not in a position to confirm when the local action will resume but has urged clubs to give the same level of support as they did in 2020.
“We will prepare for a normal year and take it as it comes. I think we will succeed if you cooperate as you did last year,” he informed clubs at the recent County Board meeting.
