Mullingar Shamrocks won their opening match of this year’s Senior Football Championship much easier than they would have expected when they defeated Shandonagh by six points in TEG Cusack Park on a very wet and damp Sunday evening last.
While the final scoreline shows there was just six points between the sides at the end, a more telling scoreline is that Shamrocks led by 12 points with 18 minutes remaining.
