Congratulations to Mullingar pool player Shane Hopkins who was crowned European Under 18 Pool champion following his success in Malta recently at the European Pool Championships.
There were great celebrations in Malta when Shane won the final to take home the European title. Shane is a member of the Westmeath Pool Association (WPA) who are based in Athlone and when Shane arrived in The Dark Horse Pub in Athlone to take part in the Westmeath senior pool championships last Saturday week there was a special welcome for him.
