A dramatic game in Ballynacargy last Saturday ended with St Joseph’s finding the net in the dying moments of extra-time to overcome Mullingar Shamrocks as Eoin Carberry’s side eradicated some of their knockout demons from 2023.
It was probably no coincidence that a game that lasted almost as long as a soccer match finished with substitute Alan Conlon finding the net via his head among the melee of bodies. The final whistle brought joyous scenes for the Streamstown side as they came out on the right side of a game that swayed from side to side throughout.
