In Multyfarnham on Sunday last the Westmeath minor camogie team fell to their first defeat against a well-drilled and physically imposing Down side.
Overall it would have been an injustice if the Mourne ladies had come away with anything less such was their dominance at times. Their first touch, passing and general cohesion was better than Westmeath’s and indeed the margin of victory could have been far more substantial but for some marvellous saves from Westmeath goalie Laura Doyle who was quite superb between the sticks.
