St Vincent’s won the Westmeath Under 16 Division 2 hurling title when they recorded a three-point win over a battling St Brigid’s side in this keenly contested final played at Robinstown, Mullingar, last Saturday morning.
Over the entire 60 minutes plus, St Vincent’s (a combination of Ringtown and Crookedwood) were the better side, but they made hard work of putting their superiority on the scoreboard, particularly in the second half and this always left St Brigid’s in with a chance of snatching something late on, but it never materialised.
